Today marks a special moment for the Shoalhaven Veteran and Family Hub, as we celebrate not one but two significant milestones that honour the strength, service, and ongoing contribution of Australia’s veteran community.

Firstly, the winners of this year’s Prime Minister’s National Veteran Employment Awards have been announced — recognising employers, organisations, and individuals who are leading the way in supporting veteran employment and wellbeing. These awards shine a light on the innovative and practical ways workplaces can empower veterans, harness their diverse skills, and create meaningful pathways for long-term success.

We are especially proud to celebrate Savannaha Wells, from RSL LifeCare Veteran Services at the Shoalhaven Veteran and Family Hub, who has been named Partner Employee of the Year. This recognition reflects her commitment, compassion, and deep understanding of the unique needs of veterans and their families. Savannaha’s work demonstrates just how vital these hubs are in ensuring veterans receive the care, advocacy, and opportunities they deserve.

Today also marks the third anniversary of the Veteran and Family Hubs program — a journey that began in Shoalhaven and has now expanded to nine locations across Australia. These hubs have become essential touchpoints, delivering tailored services that support health, well-being, housing, employment, and connection for veterans and their loved ones.

As we celebrate both achievements, we acknowledge the incredible people and partnerships that make this work possible.
