Pamphlett-Tennyson Sea Scout Camp Site
The Pamphlett-Tennyson Sea Scout camp ground is a fully grassed, tree-shaded riverside site in Tennyson, Brisbane, built for group camping and outdoor activity. It accommodates up to 100 people, and its budget-friendly rates help schools, scout and guide groups, and families keep costs down. Groups can set up tents on open lawn inside a low log barrier, which creates a contained, safe zone for children to camp and play. The main den provides indoor floor space for mattresses, along with a TV, whiteboard and projector screen for briefings or presentations. A kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove, toaster and jug supports self-catered stays, and hot showers are on site. Evenings centre on the camp fire circle for cooking and sing-alongs. Pontoon and jetty access, plus canoe and kayak hire, make the site well suited to water-based programs. Archery and special functions can also be accommodated. Pamphlett-Tennyson Sea Scout Group camping ground is available for hire to groups, organisations and individuals whose activities the Scout Association feels are compatible with the principles of the Association and which benefit the community generally. For example: scouts, guides, schools and families. Ideal for: Scout and guide camps: overnight or weekend camps with a camp fire circle, indoor den and waterfront access. School camps and excursions: a contained, supervised outdoor environment with kitchen, showers and presentation equipment for structured programs. Canoe and kayak activity days: pontoon and jetty access with on-site equipment hire for water-based programs. Family group camping: a low-cost, child-safe camping option within Brisbane, with no long drive required. Archery sessions and outdoor skills days: an open grassed expanse suited to activity-based programs. Community gatherings and special functions: communal space, with tables, chairs and a BBQ available on request. The proceeds from the hire of the camping ground help us pay and maintain the scouting facilities, boats, canoes, equipment etc which are available to the members of the Pamphlett-Tennyson Sea Scout Group.
