The 2025 NSW Country Championships, held from January 24 to 26 at Warilla Barrack Point, showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of surf lifesavers from across New South Wales. This annual event brought together approximately 900 competitors, 150 officials, and 2,000 spectators for three days of intense competition and camaraderie.

Warilla-Barrack Point Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) once again demonstrated their prowess, clinching the overall point score with an impressive 1,405 points. Cudgen Headland SLSC followed closely with 1,236 points, and Broulee Surfers SLSC secured third place with 450 points.

The Championships featured a wide array of events, including traditional surf races, board and ski events, beach sprints, and relays. Competitors ranged from nippers to masters, highlighting the inclusive nature of surf lifesaving and the importance of fostering talent across all age groups.

The event kicked off on Friday, January 24, with board-riding competitions and water events for various age groups. The following days saw a continuation of beach and water events, with participants showcasing their skills and sportsmanship. The Championships not only provided a platform for competition that also emphasised the significance of surf lifesaving in promoting community safety and engagement.

The success of the 2025 NSW Country Championships was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Surf Life Saving NSW, Warilla Barrack Point SLSC, dedicated volunteers, and the enthusiastic support of the local community. Their combined contributions ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved.

As the Championships concluded, attention now turns to the upcoming NSW State Championships, scheduled from February 28 to March 16, 2025, at Queenscliff. Clubs will continue their preparations, aiming to build upon their performances and further the spirit of surf lifesaving excellence.
